Habitat New Project in Mauk

Today, there’s a new habitat for humanity project that’s located in Mauk. Mauk is located about 40 mins away from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. At first we decided to meet in SWA (Sinarmas World Academy) but then after debating, we decided to meet at Sheraton Hotel which is located near the airport. When I was on the way there, The sky was clear. But, all of a sudden when I was about 15 mins from the hotel, It suddenly rained really heavily and instantly I thought that this activity would be either cancelled or postponed.  I hope that in the place where we’re going to build it, it would not rain at all. That’s why, Henry and I were trying to get there as soon as possible to the hotel to meet up with the others. When I got there, we’re all waiting on the condition of the place out there where we’re going to build the house. After about 1 hour, bad news came from the Habitat guy. The location was flooded since it's been raining since this morning. 

 We decided that we would just wait for another 1 or 2 hours to see if the rain stopped. After having an extensive discussion with the supervisors (Mr Bruce and Ms Melanie), the members and the guy, we decided to postpone it. The rain did not stop. But instead, it became more worse. We decided ( with the help of Ms.Melanie and Mr.Bruce), that we just went home since there’s no way to get there and do anything since the soil would be soaked in water. There’s no way that we could even create the foundation of the house. 

Fitness

Due to the preparation of mock exam, I have decided not go to the gym because I can't work out and study at the same time. Therefore for this month, I will not go to the gym. I want just focus on my exam  because these mock exam are gonna be really really important. Many of the high school teachers have told all the grade 12 students including me that we should do the best. Moreover, this exam is very useful because we are able to know what type of question that will be asked and we will be able to identify which subject will be the weakest subject among 6 other subjects.
Probably, I will go back to the gym every thursday to work out again after the mock exams are over.

Basketball Season 2

Finally, the basketball season was over. Our hardworking was paid off when we were the 4th position among the other international schools. I just wanted to thank my coach and my friends who always support me whenever I was frustrated or even down. This was one of the greatest basketball seasons in my life and I would never forget it. I feel like my teammates are like my own brothers because I can feel a lot of improvement in teamwork. Good job guys!!

Last Tournament

Today was the last tournament for this season and this was my farewell game because I would be graduated this year. The tournament itself was held at Sekolah Tiara Bangsa (STB). The following video shows how we have worked very hard for this season and the result was not so bad. We were in the 4th position among 9 other international schools. I think we could be in the 3rd position if we won the first match which was against STB. We were the 4th position after we won against British International School (BIS) and Jakarta International School (JIS).

This was an amazing day to end this season. Although we didn't become the champion, this was the greatest achievement for SWA Varsity Basketball so far.

Fitness

From today, I will not be able to work out every tuesday because I have math extra lesson. I joined this extra lesson to ensure that I will be able to get the best potential mark for the IB real math exam which will be on this May. Mr Mark, who is my math teacher really encourages me to come to this lesson so I will be able to master all the math fundamentals and stuffs. My plan after the real exams are over is that I will go the gym at least twice a week to work out.

Big Tournament

Today was the big tournament for this season and we were against Santa Lorensia School (SLS) and Global Jaya International School (GJIS) on the same day at SWA's gym. This was just a friendly match and we learnt a lot from these games. Our weaknesses such as 'grandma' pass, not being vocal enough which leads to miscommunication with other teammates, etc. I'm sure that this will be our homework to minimize these weaknesses if we still want to be the champion. On the second video, this kind of weakness that I am talking about, including me who often make stupid fouls.

I forgot the result from these intense games, but I think we didn't play very well. Still need to improve passing and more importantly playing as a team.

SWA VS Teachers

Today, SWA Varsity basketball team against the teachers at the gym. This was a good opportunity for us to play as a team and this was good to improve our teamwork by being vocal. I hope from this match, that we could identify our weaknesses so we could minimize it for the upcoming games.
